August 30-9/1 Autumn Tournaments (Merewyn)

Site: Chena Lakes Day Use Field
Event Start Time: Opens at Noon (August 31st), set up at 11 am.
Event End Time: Closes at 8 pm (must be out by 10 pm, Sept 1st)

At Chena Lake Recreation Area, near North Pole.
Come participate in our Captaincy (heavy) and Commander (Light) Tournament!
Also there will be a class on Japanese Garb by Mori Tsubakie (Rose) at 4 pm Sat.

WINTER'S GATE AUTUMN TOURNAMENTS

Site: Chena Lake Recreation Area, near North Pole
Gate Fee: donation only
There is no longer a day use fee at Chena Lake.
Event Start Time: Opens at Noon (August 31st), set up at 11 am.
Event End Time: Closes at 8 pm (must be out by 10 pm, Sept 1st)
CAMPING: Individual campsites are on first-come / first-serve basis; (no reservations). Generally there is no camping is allowed in the day use area, but they will allow a limited number to camp there to help keep an eye on the pavilions, especially if you have a period pavilion. Ask Baroness Merewyn..
Campsites are $20 /night; RVs are $30. Some campsites are down the hill from the day use area, Come early (Thurs night or Fri maybe by noon or they will fill up). NOTE: we can share campsites. There can be up to 7 people, 3 tents and 2 cars per campsites. Find a friend to camp with or ask the event steward to help you find a spot. Contact: Baroness Merewyn: lareena(at)warpmail.net.

2:00 pm Captaincy Tournament (heavy)
4:00 pm Class, Basics of Japanese Garb, by Mori Tsubakie (Rose)
5:30 Court?
6:30 pm Potluck dinner
7:30 pm Swimming and kayaking (bring your own, or rent one there); Jousting?
9:00 Bardic (TBA, probably at a campsite below the site)
SUNDAY, Sept 1st
10:30 am Commander tournament (Rapier)
Noon Lunch break
2-4:30 pm Archery; (held in the Chena Flood plain near campground)
5:00 pm Closing Court
8:00 pm Event ends
10:00 pm Gate closes (parking lot)

QUIET HOURS: 10:00 p.m.- 6:00 a.m. Day use area & beach are closed then.

Gate: Day use area closes at 10:00 pm and the gate to the parking lot there will be locked at 10 pm.

Alcohol is allowed.

TOURNAMENTS: Come join us for our Captaincy (heavy) and Commander tournament (rapier).

DINNER: We will have a potluck dinner Saturday, so bring enough to share for 8 people, and also plates and utensils.

LAKE ACCESS: You may swim, kayak or canoe!

BARDIC: will be Saturday night.

Music. Baroness Merewyn and Ellisif will give out tokens to people who are willing to perform a song or story. If you see someone wearing the token, you can ask them to perform anytime.

DOGS: No dogs are allowed in the swimming beach area. In other areas, dogs must be kept on a leash, not to exceed six feet.

A & S CONTEST:
FOOD in any mode
